A New Day at Polestar!

Aloha!

Dear Friends,
Greetings and Aloha from all your friends at Polestar! With all the loss, dramatic changes, and challenges of these past few years, starting with the Kilauea eruption and devastating fires of 2018 which brought our community life as we knew it to an abrupt end, and continuing with so much incredible societal upheaval this past year, we have never been more conscious of the importance, comfort, and power of the deep friendship we share with so many of you.
We want to say once again to each of you who has shared this journey with us and offered your good will, time, energy and support: mahalo, mahalo, mahalo! We are ennobled, encouraged, and energized by your presence in our lives!
There are many new developments to share. We are embracing both our Big Island Campus – Polestar Gardens, and our new proposed Colorado community – Polestar Village, as opportunities for creativity, expansion and growth. In addition, with a dramatic increase of interest in intentional communities, we are now supporting and informally consulting with several new community building projects. A small group of us has now re-gathered on the Big Island and our Hawaii campus, though now without our beloved temple and common house, is once again humming with activity: music, service, meditations and – pickleball!
With 12 of us currently residing here in our own “bubble”, this is not only a wonderful break from the isolation of the pandemic, but a conscious effort to discover “what is trying to happen here” next.
We are working on new models of ownership / stewardship that will make this unique and sacred land sustainable and accessible for decades to come.

We are also working, pretty much full time now, on our new proposed Polestar Village in Fort Collins. The enormous potential of this project, to take all that we have learned in 40 years of community building and apply it in an urban setting (with the zoning to include every aspect of our vision) is energizing to say the least!
This project is as big as Life and apparently, everyone we know has some kind of Colorado connection!
Though we have already engaged a small army of professionals to assist us, much more help is needed.
