Over the holidays, I was blessed with opportunities for renewal during this sacred window; plenty of daughter-time with multiple quarantines for possible covid exposure(!), festive time with dear local friends through lovely seva days and a holiday gathering, and a chance to turn inward and deeply connect with Spirit through a personal retreat to the Ananda Community in Palo Alto and their farm in Half Moon Bay. This trip was completely transformative and rejuvenating. It has helped to breathe new life into my spiritual practices and general outlook, as well as re-inspire and energize my connection with the Polestar Village mission. It feels incredibly important that we all take time for such retreats of deep rest and connection; that we create space to support this for ourselves and others, for brothers and sisters of all paths. Our vision of community, inspired by Yogananda’s idea for “World Communities,” will provide exactly this and more! I’m feeling grateful and excited to see how this project will continue to unfold in 2022 and look forward to all the opportunities for growth and connection that it will bring! Sending you all love and light for the year ahead.
Blessings,
Vina
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” –Margaret Mead
“The seven of us on board [the Space Shuttle] represented five different religions. But we were all agreed – it just doesn’t make sense how people on earth treat each other. It doesn’t make any difference what language we speak. It doesn’t make any difference what country we come from. It certainly doesn’t make any difference what the color of our skin is. We are all children of God traveling on spaceship earth together.” –Jake Garn
